Aside from this random picture that some NBA fan redditors discovered in early June, which shows Robinson posing beneath the Hollywood sign in a vintage Celtics tee, there’s been little connection between the Louisianan center and the Beantown Ballers.

Yet it’s easy to understand why Boston might be interested — despite all the young talent they’ve accumulated since fleecing the Brooklyn Nets all those years ago, very little has come on the interior. That’s clearly part of this front office’s plan, but if a center prospect like Robinson became available, I think the Celtics would jump.

Robinson fits their ideologies as a long, versatile athlete who can make shots and move on offense. It’s hard to know much about his game, but watching his high school highlights and workout footage, one could imagine Robinson succeeding making plays from the pick-and-pop and perhaps switching onto the perimeter, in addition to his traditional big man skills.

Robinson told ESPN earlier this year “the big man today is more active,” referencing the potential that he is asked to do more on the perimeter and with the ball in his hands than big men in the past.

It’s been over a year since teams have seen him against real competition, but the Celtics have been aggressive before.
