Morocco vs. Iran live stream: Watch World Cup online
By Zach Bigalke
Morocco face Iran at Saint Petersburg Stadium on June 15. Here’s the info you need to watch the World Cup Group B match.
With Morocco still in the running to host the 2026 World Cup, they’ll be motivated to get at least one victory in Russia. The Moroccans are making their first appearance in the tournament since 1998. To get to Russia, Morocco took down the Ivory Coast, Gabon and Mali in the third round of CAF qualifying without allowing a single goal.
Khalid Boutaib, a 31-year-old striker who was born in France and plays professionally in Turkey, will need to get on the score sheet to give Morocco a chance. Boutaib led the team in scoring during qualifying with four of Morocco’s 13 goals over eight matches.
Morocco’s opponent in the opening match is Iran, also making their fifth appearance in the World Cup. The Iranian side were among the final 32 teams that went to Brazil four years ago. They first made it into the tournament in 1978 when Argentina hosted the World Cup. Iran also made it to France in 1998 and Germany in 2006.
This time, the Iranian side scored 36 goals in 18 qualifying matches while conceding just five. 23-year-old striker Sardar Azmoun will be familiar with the surroundings of the tournament after spending the past five seasons with Rubin Kazan and Rostov in the Russian Premier League.
Morocco enter the World Cup in a much better run of form, with five wins and a draw in the past six matches. With Spain and Portugal rounding out Group B, this is the best shot at getting a win in this year’s World Cup for both Morocco and Iran.

Morocco will present a tough defense for Iran to crack, while Persepolis goalkeeper Alireza Beiranvand could play his way into a European transfer with a big game for Iran. The strikers on both sides will get their chances, and there will be a few goals scored.
A hard-fought match will probably end in a draw that will leave Iran and Morocco fans equally disappointed.
