Peru vs. Denmark live stream: Watch World Cup online

Peru and Denmark open up World Cup Group C play in Russia with a duel in Saransk on June 16. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Peru have been waiting 36 years for another opportunity to compete at the World Cup. After making it through South American qualifying ahead of Chile and then winning the inter-continental playoff against New Zealand, Peru are back in the tournament for the first time since 1982. The chance to play again on the world’s biggest stage comes on June 16 when the South Americans take on Denmark in Saransk.
Peru will get to take the field with team captain Paolo Guerrero after all when they face the Danes. Right before Guerrero’s suspension for a positive cocaine test was about to end, it was extended by the World Anti-Doping Agency and Court of Arbitration for Sport. A Swiss tribunal overturned that extension at the end of May, opening the door for Guerrero’s return.
Switzerland will face a Peruvian side that hasn’t lost in over a year. All but one of the players on the final Swiss 23-man roster play outside of Switzerland. The mix of players includes 10 that feature in the Bundesliga, four that play in Serie A, and a pair of Premier League stars. Included in that group is Grant Xhaka, the Arsenal midfielder who suffered a knee injury scare in the weeks leading up to the final selection.
These two teams have played one another just once previously in international play. Prior to the 2014 World Cup, Switzerland secured a 2-0 victory over Peru in a tune-up friendly in Lucerne. This match is a perfect way to wrap up a morning spent watching the first Saturday of the 2018 World Cup.

In the lead-up to the World Cup, Peru secured four wins and four draws to secure qualification. Wins in friendlies against fellow World Cup teams like Saudi Arabia, Croatia, and Iceland further bolstered Peru’s confidence heading into the match. Switzerland need to get three points in this showdown if they hope to return to the knockout round after reaching the Round of 16 in 2014.
Peru are on too much of a hot streak heading into the tournament to write them off. With Guerrero back on the squad, the South Americans should have a slight advantage against their Swiss counterparts.
