Every NBA team has had good years and bad years. But what did rock bottom look like for each organization?

The Golden State Warriors are in the midst of a historic run, a dynasty the like we haven’t seen in years.

Things weren’t always so good in Oakland, though. Golden State went through years of heartache, years of bad management, poor draft selections, failed trades, disastrous ownership and losing season after losing season.

To commemorate the futility of Warriors past, we’re going to look at the single worst season for each NBA franchise.

There is no set criteria from which we’ll select the worst team in franchise history. I’ll use a combination of poor play on the court (the most important factor), where the season ranks among franchise history but disappointment, failure to meet expectations and public relations disasters will also be factored in.

Note: Throughout the piece I’ll be using Basketball-Reference’s Simple Rating System. If you’re unfamiliar with the metric, you can learn more about it here.

Without further ado, let’s celebrate the worst teams in each franchise’s history.
