Sweden face South Korea at Nizhny Novgorod Stadium on Monday, June 18. Here’s all the info you need to watch.

Sweden and South Korea kick off World Cup action on Monday. The opening game of the tournament for both nations is of utmost importance. The winner of Monday’s game will take a huge step towards advancing to the round of 16.

Sweden finished second in their qualifying group but were able to beat Italy over a two-leg playoff to qualify for the World Cup. Emil Forsberg is arguably the best player on the Swedish team. The RB Leipzig winger combines speed with an ability to set up teammates for goals. Two seasons ago, Forsberg led the Bundesliga in assists. Against South Korea, Forsberg will try to set up Marcus Berg, who led Sweden in scoring in World Cup qualifying. Victor Lindelof will organize the Swedish defense against South Korea. The Manchester United center-back had a disappointing first season at Old Trafford, not featuring regularly during the Premier League season.

South Korea’s hope of reaching the round of 16 are dependent on Heung-min Son having a strong season. The Tottenham attacker had a strong season with Spurs, scoring 18 goals and adding 11 assists in all competitions. Son will lead the Taegeuk Warriors’ attack with Ja-cheol Koo and Hee-chan Hwang. While South Korea have some talented attacking players,if they are going to get out of the group, South Korea will have to defend much better than they did in qualifying.
