2. Kevin Huerter

There’s no secret about what Huerter’s best skill is. He’s an excellent shooter who can really stroke it from 3. The fact that he shot over 42 percent from behind the arc in college last season is not an aberration.

That wasn’t enough to convince him to enter the draft though. The reason he chose to left Maryland early is because he showed NBA teams more athleticism during the pre draft process than they expected. Scouts now think he has a chance to be an excellent shooter and an above average defender at the next level.

That sort of scouting report has surely captured the attention of the Bucks’ front office. Huerter could give the team a solid upgrade over Tony Snell in the starting lineup if he develops rapidly. That might be a little ambitious for his rookie season, but it’s a much more reasonable projection for year two.

Huerter’s decision to enter the draft makes it obvious he’s been told he’s safely a first round pick. 17 might be a little too early to take him based on value, but his fit with the Bucks would be excellent. He’s definitely a name to watch for Milwaukee as the draft gets closer.
