When does Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom come out?

The latest installment of the Jurassic Park franchise, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, arrives in time to take over the summer box office.

The dinosaurs are back in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. This time around the dinosaurs need help escaping the island they call home, but will the humans be willing to save the day? Fallen Kingdom is the latest installment in the Jurassic Park franchise and it arrives in theaters on June 22, with advance screenings starting at 7:00 PM local time on June 21.

Despite a rotten rating on Rotten Tomatoes (it’s at 58 percent as of June 19), Fallen Kingdom is already roaring at the international box office. It has already brought in $420 million at the foreign box office, including $155 million in China alone. Industry experts predict that Fallen Kingdom could bring in anywhere from $135 to $150 million at the domestic box office over opening weekend, which would be a great haul for a movie that has so far been critically panned.

It’s not surprising that Fallen Kingdom is dominating the overseas market and is expected to take over the domestic box office on its opening weekend. The first movie in the franchise, 1993’s Jurassic Park, was a universal hit, appealing to dinosaur fans of all ages. Despite spotty storytelling over the years in subsequent sequels, there is still nothing like seeing dinosaurs come to life on the big screen. This time around, the dinosaurs of Isla Nublar are facing a double whammy of threats: Not only do they have to contend with a natural disaster, but the pesky humans are also a major threat to their survival.

Fans will get a chance to see Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard reprise their roles as Owen and Claire, while Jeff Goldblum makes a highly anticipated cameo in the film.
