2. Cleveland Indians

The Cleveland Indians currently lead the AL Central by three games over the Detroit Tigers. That’s not bad, but their division lead should probably be bigger than what it is. Their the only team in the division with a positive run differential, and they have the best bullpen in terms of ERA in the division.

The problem is that even though they have the best bullpen in the division, it’s still subpar when you’re talking about all of baseball. Their problems mostly started when Andrew Miller ended up on the DL for the second time this season, and he still hasn’t returned from that knee injury.

The Indians are somewhat similar to the Washington Nationals. They have outstanding pitching, and a really great offense to boot. The problem is that they can’t find consistency. They’re 5-5 in their last 10 games, and they’re 8-8 in the month of June. I guess you could say they’ve been consistently average.

The Indians were bounced in the division series last year by the Yankees after making the World Series the previous year, and now they’re really struggling. This team is surely talented enough to reel off a handful of victories in a row, and not lose that same amount of games the following week they just need to find their stride. Thankfully the AL Central is probably the worst division in baseball.
