1. San Francisco Giants

The Giants have underperformed this season, and it’s not entirely their fault. Their pitching staff hasn’t been entirely healthy and that started in Spring Training when Madison Bumgarner broke his finger.

Johnny Cueto has been on the disabled list for a while thanks to an elbow injury but should be back by the end of June. Jeff Samardzija is back on the DL as well, but with his near seven ERA, maybe he can use this time to fix some of the problems he’s had so far. Evan Longoria has been added to the list on injured Giants as well.

The only reason the Giants are on this list is they’ve invested a lot of money into trying to win now, and they aren’t winning. They traded for Evan Longoria and Andrew McCutchen, and it isn’t working out as well as they’d hope.

Buster Posey’s power numbers haven’t been there all season, and he hasn’t driven in many runs. Brandon Crawford has far and away been their best hitter. That’s not a knock on him, but they need some more production from their main guys. Of course, that’s easier said than done especially given the ballpark they play in.

Every single one of these teams has plenty of time to turn it around and the rosters to do it. It’s just a matter of actually getting it done.
