Jaren Jackson has basketball lineage, and he’s looking to carve out his own story on Draft night.
Basketball royalty is a term that gets tossed around when talking about different generations of basketball superstars coming into the league. Whenever the next LeBron James rolls into the league, there’s a decent chance he’ll be related.
Jaren Jackson isn’t related to LeBron, but has all the tools to be a superstar for the next decade in the NBA.
Jackson — who was representing JC Penny — spoke with Mark Carman, and brought up the influence he’s had in his life. Whether it was his father who played in the NBA or fellow Spartan alumn Draymond Green. It’s clear that Jackson has pro basketball in his blood and whoever drafts him is going to be getting a potential superstar.
Jackson mentioned Green and his fiery personality, saying it’s something that he doesn’t see as a detriment. This comes at a time where Cleveland Cavaliers fans — and basketball fans in general — find it easy to hate on Green.
While he might not be as brash as Green, Jackson has that fighting spirit within him. The latest mock drafts have him going somewhere like Chicago or Memphis, both franchises in need of his talents and both in a position where adding him to their core would only mean good things for the future.
Jackson has basketball in his veins, it’s part of his story already. Once he gets drafted, he’ll begin writing his own chapter and we’ll be lucky enough to see it develop in real time.
