3. October 23 against Edmonton Oilers

Pittsburgh’s Sidney Crosby and Edmonton’s Connor McDavid will face off in this game in Edmonton, which means that it’ll be a late start at 9:00 p.m. ET. Both players are regarded as two of the best in the world in their sport, and seeing them make some spectacular plays each time they take the ice alone is worth tuning into this game. It didn’t matter how bad the Oilers were last year, because McDavid played in both games against the Penguins and looked outstanding both times. The same is true for Crosby.

Even though Crosby and McDavid take up most of the hype in this game — and rightfully so — there’s still some other outstanding talent between the two teams, as well. This matchup will also feature the talents of Evgeni Malkin, Leon Draisaitl, Kris Letang, Oscar Klefbom, Matt Murray and Cam Talbot, among others. The games are fast-paced and maybe this is the year that the game gets on national television. NBCSN hasn’t put one on yet and it needs to happen this year so that they can get some casual viewers to watch McDavid and Crosby go at it and then come back for more.
