4. Dallas @ Boston Bruins

Date: Monday, November 5

Time: 7:00 p.m., E.T.

If you’re like me (which would be tough luck for you), the game in March against the Boston Bruins is lingering like vomit in the back of the throat. It was a critical contest in every sense of the word, as Dallas had already lost six in a row and were spiraling out of control and out of playoff contention. Imagine Sandra Bullock in Gravity floating off into the dark abyss. That was basically how it looked from a fan perspective, except we weren’t near as calm as George Clooney.

So how did this critical contest eventually transpire? Dallas lost 3-2 with 11 seconds left, after being up 2-0 earlier in the game. From my perch it was as sickening a loss as any in the last maybe seven or eight seasons, even more so than when they came out in a Game 7 against the St. Louis Blues looking like a toddler squad.

This is purely about revenge. I know it. You know it. Even with the fact that the Stars had beaten the Bruins in overtime earlier in the year, to completely implode at the worst moment is mind-numbing. This one is not only circled in black ink, but it’s circled in yellow, red, blue, gold, green, white and every other color imaginable. Do something to remove this awful taste from our mouths. Otherwise all we can find to grasp at the moment is the purity of fleecing Boston for Tyler Seguin. It’s been years, we don’t care.
