Serbia and Switzerland continue their World Cup Group E campaigns in Russia with a duel in Kaliningrad on June 22. Here’s all the info you need to watch.
Serbia leads Group E after the opening round of group matches at the 2018 World Cup. The Serbs took down Costa Rica 1-0 in the group opener, and they will look to keep up the momentum against Switzerland.
Aleksandar Kolarov put the Serbian side ahead with a wicked direct free kick that arced over the wall and curled into the top corner of the net past Keylor Navas. Though they had plenty of good looks against Costa Rica, it took a set piece for Serbia to escape victorious.
Switzerland scored one of the surprises of the first set of matches. Taking on Brazil, the Swiss side weathered an early storm and allowed just one goal in the first half. Philippe Coutinho’s 20th-minute blast put the South American contenders in the lead. But Brazil could not find any more goals, and the 1-0 lead proved tenuous.
The header that put Switzerland level with Brazil was almost criminally easy. Unmarked at close range, Steven Zuber rose and cleanly met Xherdan Shaqiri’s corner kick to beat Alisson. As the result held, Switzerland gained a crucial point against the Group E favorite.
Serbia will be looking to maintain its hold of first place in Group E. A win would ensure that the Serbians go through to the next stage. If Switzerland wins, they would move into at least a tie for first place in the group. This match will provide great afternoon entertainment for an early lead into the second weekend of the tournament.

These two teams have played 13 times historically, with Serbia earning six wins and five draws. But these two teams have also never met, at least not since Yugoslavia ceased to exist. A couple of teams that both line up in 4-2-3-1 formations will try to outwit one another in Kaliningrad and take charge in Group E.
Both teams will look to get into position to press upfield and work their moments. This will have exciting pockets of action in between large displays of defense. Serbia will generate more chances, and they should be able to produce enough goals to secure three more points and a guaranteed trip to the next round.
