4. Alex Collins will get over 300 carries

There’s been a lot of talk about the Ravens’ passing game this summer, but Harbaugh wants to make the run game the foundation of his attack. If that’s going to happen, it will require Alex Collins to perform like a Pro Bowler.

Collins is one of those running backs who seems to get better the more work he gets. Harbaugh gave him 212 carries last season and he produced an impressive rushing total of 973 yards. That comes out to 4.6 yards per carry.

Some people might have expected the Ravens to try to find a backup to split carries with Collins in the offseason, but instead Baltimore stuck with Javorius Allen. He’s not the sort of back who’s going to push Collins for meaningful carries. He’s a solid backup, but that’s it.

Look for Baltimore to go with an old-school plan on offense this year. They’re going to give Collins all of the touches he can handle. It won’t do much to extend his career, but the team will hope it’s enough to get them into the playoffs. Flacco will take a fair amount of deep shots down the field, but it’s all going to be set up by Collins grinding out yards on the ground. It’s possible Collins will lead the NFL in carries in 2018.
