NBA Free Agency 2018: 5 best power forwards available
4. Jabari Parker
The owner of one of the unluckiest careers in the NBA is finally a free agent. He has had 2 ACL surgeries, but showed in 2016-17 that he can still live up to the expectations of second overall draft pick. That season, in 51 games, he averaged 20 points while pulling down 6 rebounds per game.
Then last year, despite only starting 3 games, he did more to inspire confidence. He shot 38.3 percent from 3-point range, marking another year of improvement in that category. He has become better molded for the modern NBA game. The improved three point shooting and his 60th percentile performance in transition mean he can play with any offense.
He will likely have to play with another ball handler as 96.8 percent of his 3-pointers were assisted, but he has the ability to create off of the dribble. If his pull-up jumper improves, Parker could be a very talented scorer with the ability to post up smaller defenders as well.
Parker will have to improve defensively. However, he showed he can be better in his rookie season, so hopefully more confidence in his knees will help him there.
His knees, though, are the reason for caution. He could as easily become a dominant offensive player as he could be plagued with injury trouble for the rest of his career.
