4. Mario Hezonja

Hezonja is a former No. 5 overall pick who could probably be signed for about $4 million. The Orlando Magic already turned down an option on Hezonja for $5.17 million and such a move could serve as a ceiling in free agency.  Last season he averaged 9.6 points and 3.7 rebounds, which were career highs for the 23-year-old. Nothing really dramatic here in terms of what Memphis would be receiving or revealing as such a move would suggest neither a retreat from winning now nor a belief that the future is immediate. Signing Hezonja to a reasonable deal is just that, reasonable. They wouldn’t be committing what even approaches a Chandler Parsons-sized mistake, and they would be signing a player who is 23 and therefore five years younger than Tyreke Evans.
