WNBA DFS Lineup Advice – 6/27/2018 (Fanduel and DraftKings)

It is Wednesday June 27th and we have two WNBA DFS games on the slate tonight starting at 7PM ET.

The Lynx secured their 5th straight win in a row last night, when they defeated the Seattle Storm 91-79.  I had a good amount of exposure to this game, unfortunately most of that included Seimone Augustus. Stacking Slyvia Fowles, Maya Moore, And Rebekkah Brunson together paid off though, and I was still able to cash.

A few value picks didn’t go as hoped (ahem, ahem Brionna Jones) but the ownership was high enough and the price low enough, that they didn’t impact things that much.

On a short slate like this I tend to minimize the amount of punt plays I use in my lineups. With scoring so tight, one small misstep can leave you just shy of the money line. My GPP entries will look more like a typical cash lineup tonight. I might through a few stacks from the late night game into a GPP,  where I think it might be easier to find some value to match up with your stars.

That said let’s jump into tonight’s slate, go over some key players and a few value picks, and find some players that you can build a winning lineup around tonight.

WNBA DFS KEY PLAYERS & VALUE PICKS

The Fever and the Suns meet again for the third time this year.  The Suns scored 86, and 87 points in their first two matchups. They lead the league in scoring at 88.1 ppg. The Suns did play last night though, and if Alyssa Thomas misses another game I don’t expect them to put up those kind of numbers tonight, even against Indiana. The Fever are desperate for a win, and they might be in a good spot to steal one from the Suns tonight. I expect Indiana to come out and play hard in the first half, if they can find some momentum to build on tonight they may be able to pull off the upset.

  • Chiney Ogwumike (CON) I still think her price is a little too high. The only was she will make it into my lineups tonight is if I do a game stack which I don’t have much interest in.
  • Candice Dupree  (IND)  Her minutes have gone back up in the last 2 games, but I’m not willing to risk another poor game. Out of her last 6 games she has scored under 20 fantasy points 3 times.
  • Natalie Achonwa (IND) I like her on Fanduel today. She is cheaper than Dupree and has been more consistent as of late. Her playing time has also been a little more steady lately, averaging 30 mins over her last 3 games.
  • Jasmine Thomas (CON)

I think this is game Thomas finally gets out of her shooting slump, and her price is down right now. That said, there are better options on the slate tonight and my exposure to her will be minimal.

    VALUE PICK:  Alex Bentley

    LATE NIGHT DUEL

Dallas and Las Vegas both sit at the bottom of the Western Conference, with the Aces 2 games behind them. They are both good basketball teams and fun to watch, but much like NBA the West is a tough place to play. I like this game tonight and it’s where I will be targeting most of my players. The projected point total is a bit low I think and the game should stay close, and both teams play at a fast pace, making it a good DFS target.

    • A’ja Wilson (LV)  Had a rough game out last time but I am ready to go right back to her tonight.  She has scored over 20 points in 3 of her last 4 games. Dallas rebounds the ball well, so she will have to for her boards, but I still think she can hit value tonight.
    • Liz Cambage (DAL) Has scored over 20 points in her last 3 games. I expect her to shoot well again tonight, grab enough rebounds and get a few blocks, and have no problem covering her price tag.
    • Skylar Diggins-Smith (DAL) I’m waiting for her price to come down, especially on DraftKings where she is the second most expensive player on the slate. She has a high ceiling, but I don’t think she is worth the risk tonight.
    • Kayla Mcbride (DAL)  I think she is the safest play at guard tonight, she might not have the same upside as some of the other players but I am fine playing her on such a short slate even for GPPs.

VALUE PICKS:  Dearica Hamby, Azura Stevens, Allisha Gray
