4. Golden State Warriors

This may seem ridiculous, considering how many big men the Golden State Warriors carried for the duration of the 2017-18 NBA season, but this summer the Dubs will actually need more big men. Zaza Pachulia, JaVale McGee, David West and Kevon Looney are all unrestricted free agents, and all could end up walking.

If all or most of them depart the Bay, Greg Monroe could fill in nicely. The Warriors can rock some deadly lineups consisting entirely of shooters, but Steve Kerr has not hesitated to feature players who aren’t three-point specialists as well. Monroe would absolutely feast while defenses worried about Steph Curry and Kevin Durant on the outside.

He probably wouldn’t play in high-stakes moments against teams like the Houston Rockets, who could go small and make it terribly difficult for Moose to survive defensively, but there are plenty of teams out there without the personnel to scheme a big man off of the floor.

For Monroe, going to the Warriors is an obvious win-now decision. Golden State doesn’t have the money that many teams do, but no team can offer a better shot at a championship. Considering Monroe picked Milwaukee in large part due to the team’s ability to compete and make the postseason, this might be an ideal destination for him.
