3. Los Angeles Lakers

If the Los Angeles Lakers aren’t still too upset about losing out on him three years ago, they might have interest in adding Greg Monroe this summer. Monroe is far from Los Angeles’ first priority, considering the Lakers have plans to add LeBron James and/or Paul George, but there’s a whole lot of roster spots open even if both of those two sign there.

With Brook Lopez hitting free agency, Los Angeles will need a big man or two to grab rebounds and set screens for the stars they end up acquiring. Monroe’s passing would fit in nicely with Lakers coach Luke Walton’s motion offense. Not many big men can zip the ball from the post like Monroe can.

There’s no telling how much cap space (if any) Los Angeles will have when they get to looking at supplemental players like Monroe. Magic Johnson would love his money to be entirely tied up in superstars at that point, but there could still be some left for Moose.

Either way, the allure of playing in Los Angeles is very real, and this team could be eons better than it was last time it courted Monroe. There probably aren’t many actual moose in Los Angeles, but there aren’t lakes either, so it all works out.
