Carolina Panthers: Steph Curry

Before Steph Curry became the best shooter in the history of the NBA, he was just the son of Dell Curry, who was a pretty incredible shooter in his own right. However, as it stands now, Curry is a three-time NBA Champion, and is already carving out his place in the Pro Basketball Hall of Fame.

The elder Curry played many years for the Charlotte Hornets, which is why Steph’s love for the Carolina Panthers runs so deep. He went to high school in the Charlotte area, and played his college ball at Davidson College, which is located in North Carolina as well.

The bottom line is, Curry is a Carolina kid, and his fandom for the Panthers is on display every time he is in the building at Bank of America Stadium. Curry has pounded the drum before Panthers games, and during a time this offseason, it looked like he might actually take over as one of the team’s owners.

Panthers former owner Jerry Richardson sold the team amid allegations of misconduct, and Curry was part of a group  that had interest in buying the organization. While Curry and Co. eventually fell out of the race, it just shows how much he loves the franchise, which is now in good hands with new owner David Tepper.

For many people, Curry is synonymous with the Bay Area, as he has led the Golden State Warriors to three NBA titles in the last four seasons. But for the Carolina area, he is their native son, and his love for the Panthers will never waver, no matter where his NBA career takes him.
