LeBron James decided to take his talents West, which means a lot of things that Twitter wasn’t ready to handle.

It was the Summer of LeBron, but it lasted less than 24 hours. After the first wave of free agents made their decision at midnight on Sunday, LeBron James was busy flying out to Los Angeles to sign a deal with the Lakers.

Inevitability is the word most commonly attached the move, which many saw coming weeks — even years — in advance. But now that LeBron imagining a world where LeBron is a Laker and actually living in that world are two different things.

Once word broke via press release (!!!) that the King was headed to Hollywood, just about everyone jumped onto Twitter to absolutely lose their minds.

The reactions ranged from ‘I told you so’ to ‘OH MY GOD IT’S HAPPENING’ and everywhere in between.

LeBron himself even got in on the social media reaction, thanking Cleveland for always supporting him.

There’s so much to unpack from this, and plenty of people will attempt to do so in the coming days. Let’s just run down the list while we all try to process this:

  • What happens to Kevin Love now that he’s the last man standing in Cleveland?
  • Does this lock up a Kawhi-to-Lakers trade?
  • Will the Raptors finally make it to the NBA Finals now that LeBron is in the other conference?
  • The Lakers-Celtics rivalry just became LeBron vs. Kyrie
  • Does Jimmy Butler stay one more year in Minnesota and then head to L.A.?
  • Will LeBron miss the NBA Finals for the first time in eight years, losing to the Warriors?

All that we do know, for now, is that the NBA is never unfun and next season is going to be absolutely bananas.
