Is World of Dance new tonight, July 3? With the Fourth of July holiday landing in the middle of the week, fans of NBC‘s dance competition series might wonder if that’s going to disrupt the show’s sophomore schedule.
And indeed it will. TV viewers can watch an episode of World of Dance on Tuesday, but it won’t be a new episode. Instead, the network is giving fans a repeat broadcast of the second season opener so you can catch up on the first dancers and dance acts that impressed the judges this season. Are they going to be as impressive when you watch them again?
The series will return with its next new episode on the following Tuesday, July 10 in its regular time slot. That will be the season’s sixth qualifiers episode, but it’s also the last qualifier before the actual competition starts. So if you need to catch up on who the contestants are, this would be the week to do it. Perhaps that’s NBC’s reasoning in serving up the first episode, which originally aired more than a month ago on May 29.
It might be a bummer that the Fourth of July on Wednesday means that you won’t be able to see the next World of Dance this Tuesday, but at least there’s an episode on the air if TV fans still want their dose of Jennifer Lopez, Derek Hough, NE-YO and Jenna Dewan. And the next new installment is only a week away, so it’s not a long wait either.
