5 moves the Bruins can make to get back to the playoffs

2. Take a chance on Rick Nash (at a heavy discount)?

Added a “?” because I’m still unsure if this is a good idea or not. There’s a good chance that Nash is going to take a pay cut wherever he goes this off-season and he wasn’t bad with the Bruins by any means in the limited time he had there.

The Bruins lost out on Riley Nash to the Vegas Golden Knights. Riley was developing into a fine player and showed he had versatile talent when Patrice Bergeron was out with injury. Unfortunately, Boston couldn’t lock him up before Vegas did.

Rick Nash could benefit from a full season with the club, allowing him to settle in on a set line and get back to being a productive offensive talent. Sure, he is older, but the Bruins system allows for these types of players to have success alongside the younger guys. Plus, at 34-years-old Nash still has some good hockey left in him.

Rumors surrounding Rick Nash are that while he is considering playing another season, he is also considering retirement. If this is the case, the Bruins will likely look elsewhere, or further down the road in landing a talented forward.

Many involved in Boston media are flirting with the idea of a Torey Krug trade. While personally, I do not agree with this, the return could fill any holes left in the Bruins offense. The return being the key here. Krug is one of the better offensive defensemen in the NHL and it would be a hit to the Bruins power play to let him go.
