3. Jarvis Landry will set a career low in receptions

Landry has a firm belief that he’s the best wide receiver in the NFL. In fairness, the Browns are paying him like one. This season will be a serious wakeup call for him.

Some fans are counting on Landry to be the cure for all of Cleveland’s ills on offense. The truth is he just isn’t dynamic enough to be a number one wide receiver. The fact that Landry is the most talented receiver on the Browns’ roster is actually going to push his production down in 2018.

Instead of seeing Landry dominate the offense, expect a lot of receivers to get meaningful touches. Josh Gordon and Corey Coleman both have a lot of potential on the outside. It’s dangerous to base your offense around either of them as a number one wide receiver, but both are good bets to get 50 catches or so on the season. Cleveland is only going to throw the ball so much.

Remember, Duke Johnson led this team in catches last season and he’s still in Cleveland. Don’t expect him to catch 74 balls this season, but he’s another guy who will likely go over 50 catches.

Don’t count Antonio Callaway out either. He slipped in the draft due to a myriad of off the field concerns, but he’s got serious talent. It’s distinctly possible he can carve a niche out this season as well.

Landry will complain loudly every week he doesn’t get the targets he desires, and it’s going to be a very frustrating year for him in Cleveland. He won’t be the center of the Browns’ offensive universe.
