It appears as Michael Jordan doesn’t have a chance against the stars of BIG3 basketball.

Michael Jordan, one of the greatest athletes ever to grace this Earth, apparently doesn’t have the skill set needed to dominate the NBA’s retirement league.

That’s the best way to describe the BIG3 basketball league, a place where once-NBA stars lace up the sneakers one more time at a shot of glory, playground style. Granted, most of the players in the BIG3 have lost a step or two, but what they lack in athleticism, these players more than make up for in trash talking.

Enter Stephen Jackson, one of the stars of BIG3, who had a colorful response when he was asked by reporters if the great Jordan could play in the BIG3: “Mike come out here right now…he gonna get cooked.”

That’s how they’re carrying it now.

Players who were once afraid of Air Jordan are now gleefully taking any shot that they can at him. Now, Jackson didn’t mean any harm by his comment, or maybe he did. Either way, an interesting question has been brought up that requires are short attention spans.

Can M.J. play in the BIG3?

It’s hard to tell. When you look at Jordan today, it seems as he has gotten more than his fill of home cooking. That’s not to say that he has gotten fat, but, from the naked eye, it sure does look like he isn’t in the physical shape to play 3-on-3 playground ball against these former stars.

Then again, you can same the same about some of the players within the league. Take Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf for example, who is basically the Uncle Drew of the BIG3 with his near-pure white old man beard. From the surface, no one could think he could play, but there he is, ripping up the retirement league.

So, would M.J. really get “cooked” in BIG3? That’s a question I don’t think Jackson would want to know the answer to.
