Friday’s TUF 27 Finale in Las Vegas features a middleweight main event between Brad Tavares and Israel Adesanya and begins a weekend loaded with quality MMA action
Once again, it’s that time of year, and as always, International Fight Week will feature a pair of UFC cards with Friday’s TUF 27 Finale and Saturday’s UFC 226. But unless you’re fortunate enough to be spending the week at the epicenter of the festivities in Las Vegas, it all begins with the TUF 27 Finale.
In the card’s main event, undefeated Israel Adesanya will attempt to earn his third straight Octagon victory when he meets eighth-ranked Brad Tavares. After knocking-out Rob Wilkinson to win his UFC debut at February’s UFC 221, Adesanya earned a split-decision victory over Marvin Vettori at April’s UFC Fight Night Glendale. Tavares also made his last Octagon appearance at UFC Fight Night Glendale and has won four straight fights entering Friday’s headliner.
Season 27 of The Ultimate Fighter will also crown a pair of new champions. In the tournament’s lightweight final, Joe Gianetti is scheduled to face Mike Trizano, while Brad Katona will fight for the TUF featherweight title against an opponent who’s yet to be announced.
