Welcome to the Friday edition of WNBA DFS Lineup Advice, a fantasy basketball column dedicated to finding you the best key players and value picks on today’s slate to build your lineups around.

I hope everybody did well last night in their WNBA DFS tournaments and cash games. Most of the games went down as expected, I thought Indiana would keep it a little closer, but Azura Stevens wasn’t gonna let that happen. I managed to just slide by in my GPPs last night. I should have played a few cash games. Since we have just one game on the slate tonight, let’s start crunching the numbers and go win some money!

SEA @ ATL

Before we take a look ahead at tonight’s game let’s take a look back into the past first. These two teams met on July 10th earlier this year, a game Atlanta won 67-64.

We can see from the shot charts that Atlanta attacked the rim, while Seattle fired away from outside of the arc. Atlanta’s most recent game against the Fever was no different, only taking 9 shots from three point range. I expect them to be busy in the paint again today, and there may be some value to be had at forward.

One big difference between the last two times these teams met and Atlanta’s most recent game are the box scores, more specifically – the minutes being played.

UTILITY

Imani McGee-Stafford has seen her minutes go through the roof lately starting in place of Elizabeth Williams. If that trend continues tonight I will definitely have a lot of exposure to her in my lineups at utility.

Tiffany Hayes only played 18 minutes last game, I expect her to see about 24 in this game if it stays close, but I like the price much more on Brittany Sykes tonight. She didn’t play the first two times these teams met, but she has filled in well with Hayes out recently and has put up 25+ fantasy points in 3 out her last 4 games. Sykes is a solid utility option today and a possible PRO spot candidate on Fanduel.

I don’t much interest in Breland or Williams tonight. Alysha Clark could be a sneak play at utility, but I am not rushing to get her in my lineups.

STARS and PROS

Sue Bird has been playing well lately, I have her in as my PRO on Fanduel at the moment. I worry about Hayes stepping up and taking control of Atlanta’s offense again tonight, but I think Bird is the safer play.

On DrafKings Jewell Loyd is priced just above Bird, and has more upside today IMO. But I won’t have much exposure to her on Fanduel. She could spoil the slate for me, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take tonight.

Angel McCoughtry is a bit of a conundrum for me tonight. She has only hit value in 3 of her last 10 games, but for some reason I like her tonight against Seattle. I have her in my STAR spot on Fanduel now, a decision I may kick myself for later. Sometimes you just have to go with your gut.

Natasha Howard is the wild card for me in this game. She had a good game the first time these teams met, 15 points 15 rebounds, but I’m not sure she can repeat that performance tonight. Her price is a little to high for me on both sites today. Howard’s minutes have taken a hit lately, and she has only taken 10+ shots in a game twice since facing Atlanta (where she took 17). I won’t have much exposure to her today.

WNBS DFS MVP

Breanna Stewart got into foul trouble in the first matchup with the Dream but I like her as MVP on both sites today. She only had 5 personal fouls in her last 3 games, I don’t think that should be a problem tonight. And we can’t talk about Stewart without mentioning the fact that its Breanna Stewart Bobblehead Night!*.  Stick her in your lineups tonight she’s gonna go off!
