Travis Pastrana honors a legend by attempting to recreate some of Evel Knievel’s most daring stunts on live television. Here’s how to watch on TV and online.

Once upon a time Evel Knievel used to show up on television screens across the country, performing death defying stunts that left audiences stunned. Now, Nitro Circus’ Travis Pastrana will attempt to recreate three of Knievel’s iconic jumps on live television on July 8.

Pastrana will attempt the three jumps on a modern recreation of the same motorcycle that Evel Knievel used, and all three jumps will happen live in a three hour event.

The first jump will be an attempt to beat Knievel’s record of jumping 52 cars while the second jump will feature 16 full size Greyhound buses. The final jump will make history — if Pastrana lands it. The third jump recreates the Knievel’s attempt to jump the Caesars Palace fountain. Knievel made the attempt 50 years ago and it almost killed him. Now, Pastrana will try to make all three jumps in one night.

If successful, Pastrana will own two of Knievel’s records and he will be the only person to successfully make the fountain jump.

Evel Live hearkens back to an era of television where anything could happen on live TV, and it often did. There’s no guarantee that Pastrana will makes any of these jumps, which raises the ante and gives the audience an edge of your seat viewing experience. On the one hand, it would be fantastic to see Pastrana break the records, but on the other hand Knievel has been the record-holder for so long that it’s sad to think they might finally be broken. Either way, Evel Live promises a fun three hours.
