In his first two seasons as Texas’s starting quarterback, Vince Young completed 59 percent of his passes for 2,004 yards, 18 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions. Young wasn’t overly impressive as a passer but he rushed for 998 and 1,079 yards and accounted for 25 touchdowns in his first two seasons.

As a junior, Young put it all together and led Texas to 13-0 season with 3,036 passing yards and 1,050 rushing yards with a completion percentage above 65 percent while accounting for 38 total touchdowns on the ground and in the air.

In the 2005 National Title game against USC, he had one of the best single-game performances in NCAA history, throwing for 267 yards as he completed 30 of 40 passes and also rushing for 200 yards and three touchdowns. His eight-yard scramble with 19 seconds left in the game sealed the win for Texas to complete the perfect season and is still today one of the most iconic plays in the history of college football.

Bonus Facts: By the time Vince Young had completed his career at Texas, he owned 26 individual school records, including most 400-yard games, most 500-yard games, most wins, most rushing touchdowns in a game, season, and career and most 100-yard rushing games.
