Here’s how you can watch SharkFest’s 700 Sharks documentary online via live stream or the old-fashioned way right on your television.

The French 700 Sharks one-hour documentary is arriving in English on Nat Geo Wild tonight at 9 p.m. ET. You can catch a live stream of the special SharkFest presentation at NationalGeographic.com with a free seven-day trial from FuboTV.

700 Sharks will see literally one of the largest school of sharks (of about 700) patrol the waters of Polynesia, as viewers get an exclusive raw look at the sea’s renowned predator. Hundreds of gray reef sharks will be seen in the channel of Fakarava revealing their innate social behavior. According to Arte.TV, top of the line equipment was used for the venture including 32 synchronized cameras, hydrophones, receiver antennas and much more. The project took three years of preparation for divers to get ready to sink into the heart of the pack without natural fear.

French biologist/diver Laurent Ballesta directed the documentary with shark scientist & behavioral ecologist Johann Mourier. The notorious immense grouping of gray-reef sharks occurs during a full moon. Mourier explained in an article on Cell.com back in July 2016 how 700 Sharks are still able to locate enough food to satisfy their vast needs. He also provided a video abstract explanation (slideshow with French audio/English text) over on Vimeo.

In Mourier’s own words on Twitter, viewers will see real science not bait explaining the shark’s hunting/predation strategies. That means new behaviors not previously recorded in camera, breaking ground. 700 Sharks is part of Nat Geo’s SharkFest which is seeing practically a marathon of shark related TV airing throughout.
