WNBA DFS Lineup Advice – 7/19/2018

    NY @ ATL

The Atlanta Dream have become one of the hottest teams of July, working their way into a tie for 1st place in the Eastern Conference with the Washington Mystics. The Dream have won 5 games in a row, and host the struggling NY Liberty in the first game on the slate. I won’t have much exposure to this game today. The Liberty guards are overpriced, Atlanta is due for a bad game, and neither team averages over 80 points per game.

    KEY PLAYERS:

Tina Charles – I will have very little exposure to Charles today in GPPs or cash games. Her price tag is a little high, the matchup isn’t the best, and there are too many good pivots on the slate. That said she still is the focal point of the NY offense, has a usage rate of 30.3%, and is capable of putting up 45+ fantasy points on any given day.

Angel McCoughtry – Angel had her best game of the season against NY with 39 points and 14 rebounds the last time these two teams met on the hardwood. She is the cheapest of the bunch on DraftKings and we just saw what Cambage did to the Liberty. I won’t have a ton of exposure to her today, but she makes a decent option for your GPP lineups.

VALUE PICKS:  Monique Billings (FD & DK)  Kiah Stokes (FD & DK)

Marissa Coleman (DK) *if she starts.

    WAS @ DAL

I think a lot of people will look to target this game tonight for their lineups. It has the highest point total on the slate, the tightest spread, and should be played at a relatively fast pace. Dallas is 8-3 at home this year. The Mystics have averaged 87.22 points on the road this season. Natasha Cloud is out with a concussion. This game will appear on ESPN 2 and I expect the players to be at their best tonight. There are plenty of things to like about this game and plenty of angles to attack it from.

    KEY PLAYERS:

Elena Delle Donne –  I can’t think of a reason not to play EDD today. LineStar has her projected to score 45.21 points on Fanduel. She gets a good matchup in an up pace game. EDD has played 35 mins a piece in her last 2 games, and taken 77 field goal attempts over her last 4 games. She’s a little pricey on DraftKings, but she should have plenty of opportunities to hit value tonight.

Liz Cambage – Cambage broke the WNBA record when she scored 53 points against Dallas on Tuesday. It’s not the best matchup but she clearly has one of the highest ceilings on the slate, and will be hard to fade after her last performance. LineStar has her projected to score 40.36 points on Fanduel. Her ownership is gonna be high today, and her price/floor isn’t safe enough for cash. I will some exposure to her in my GPPs today due to the high point total of this game, but I’m not counting on another huge performance from her.

Skylar Diggins-Smith – Smith seems like an easy fade to me today. Like Charles, she’s too expensive, the matchup is tough, and there are better options to pay up for on the slate. I would rather build my lineups around the stars in the paint, and find some value picks at guard in this game.

VALUE PICKS:   Tierra Ruffin-Pratt (FD & DK)   Cayla George (FD & DK)

WNBA DFS Lineup Advice – 7/19/2018

    LV @ PHO

The Mercury have done a good job of slowing down the young team from Vegas this year holding them to a combined 146 points in two games they’ve played this season. LV has won four of their last 5 games and is playing at the fastest pace in the league. The Aces are allowing an average of  85.1 points on defense though, giving up nearly eight 3-pointers-a-game. Briann January has taken eight 3pt attempts over her last 2 games and is priced low on both sites today.

    KEY PLAYERS:

Diana Taurasi – Taurasi has also been firing away from three-point land lately, putting up 18 attempts in her last 2 games. She gets a good matchup in an up pace game. I think she will score 30 points in a game for the first time this season tonight. If I’m paying up for a guard on this slate it’s gonna be Taurasi.

Brittney Griner – Griner has had 2 big games against Vegas this year and is one of my favorite forwards today for GPP lineups. She’s had 13 blocks and 23 rebounds in two games against the Aces, and has one of the best matchups on the slate. She’s got a great price on DraftKings today and I will have plenty of exposure to her on both sites.

A’Ja Wilson – The Mercury have managed to contain the rookie this year for the most part. LineStar has her projected to score 39.74 points on Fanduel. I think that’s about 7 points too high. Wilson is another high-priced player who looks like a good fade today. She has GPP upside, but I don’t trust her for cash today, and doubt we get a ceiling game from her.

VALUE PICKS:  Briann January (FD & DK)  Camille Little (FD & DK)  Carolyn Swords (FD & DK)
