Here’s a quick look at the biggest names to miss the cut at the 2018 edition of The Open Championship from Carnoustie.

The first two rounds of The Open Championship are in the books as golf fans look forward to exciting storylines at Carnoustie over the weekend. However, some of the biggest names in the game won’t be around to be a part of them, including three of the top five players in the world.

The top 70 and ties will take a run at the Claret Jug on Saturday and Sunday with Zach Johnson and Kevin Kisner leading the way at six-under par. There’s a solid trio just one shot back, including 10th-ranked Tommy Fleetwood, a favorite of many coming into this championship. Pat Perez and Xander Schauffele are also at five-under.

While some of those certainly aren’t household names, there’s plenty of big-name players right there in the hunt. Rory McIlroy, Matt Kuchar and Tony Finau, who is really starting to make a name for himself, are two shots back at four-under.

Jordan Spieth and Rickie Fowler are just a stroke behind them, three back of the lead. Back-to-back U.S. Open winner Brooks Koepka and former Masters champion Adam Scott are five back at one-under and Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jason Day, Francesco Molinari are part of a big group at even par for the week.

Of the 79 players to make the cut at The Open, there are also plenty of big-name players that won’t get a chance to hoist one of sports’ most prized possessions on Sunday afternoon, most notably world No. 1 Dustin Johnson. With three-over par getting players into the weekend, DJ missed out by three shots following rounds of 76 and 72.

Joining him on the way home is world No. 2 Justin Thomas, who shot a solid round of 69 on Thursday but followed it up with a 77 on Friday to miss the cut by one. Fifth-ranked Jon Rahm is also on his way out at five-over.
