X Games Minneapolis 2018: Jackson Strong wins record 4th moto x best trick gold medal
The co-main event of X Games Minneapolis Saturday night was the moto x best trick contest. The riders went huge tonight with some incredible tricks. Here are the highlights.
The moto x best trick event is one of the wildest in the X Games. These riders put it all on the line with some of the craziest tricks we’ve ever seen on these powerful bikes. This event was insane right from jump number one.
Round 1 saw some great tricks and Rob Adelberg pushed the field with a huge frontflip. It came down to the final two riders of the round, though; Tom Pages and Jackson Strong. The two would put up the best two scores of the night.
Tom Pages, who won moto x freestyle gold last night, went huge with a no-handed double back flip to score a 91.66. Jackson Strong’s no-handed front flip was the only trick to best him, netting a 93.00 and sitting him firmly in first place.

Round two opened with third place contestant Rob Adelberg, who put down a one-handed front flip for a score of 91.00, keeping him in third place and hoping it would remain that way.
Harry Bink, Taka Higashino both came up short on their second jumps. Josh Sheehan put down the same trick as Tom Pages, with a no-handed double back flip but he missed the podium with a 90.00.
Tom Pages’ second run was a cleaner version of his no-handed double backflip. It wasn’t enough to move him into first place and Jackson Strong was you best trick champion.
This was Jackson Strong’s fourth moto x best trick gold medal. He is the only four-time gold medallist in moto x best trick history. He also continued the Aussie dominance in these X Games.

Highlights
Rob Adelberg threw down this big frontflip in round 1. He would take a hand off in the second round but it wouldn’t be enough to move him out of third place.
Harry Bink went big with a double back flip of his own. This trick wasn’t quite as clean as Pages’ and score Harry an 87.66 on the board.
Taka Higashino landed this wild trick with no hands, which is absolutely insane. The trick itself may not have been technical enough, only getting him an 86.00 on the scoreboard.
Josh Sheehan was one of many with the no-handed double back flip. Here it is to near perfect execution. The trick would get him into the 90’s but not enough for a medal spot.
Libor Podmol with the interesting take-off. This trick looks cool but it would only be enough to land him a last place finish.
