RBC Canadian Open – Highly Owned Golfers

It is impossible to predict the chalk plays each week with certainty, but here are a few golfers that I (and the DrafKings PGA community) believe will garner high ownership.

Dustin Johnson $11,700

Brooks Koepka $10,800

Tony Finau $9,800

Bubba Watson $9,600

Charlie Hoffman $8,700

Byeong-Hun An $7,800

Johnattan Vegas $7,500

Kieth Mitchell $7,400

Joel Dahmen $7,400

Tyler Duncan $7,200

RBC Canadian Open – Sleepers

$9,200 Gary Woodland

Woodland may be more popular than I think, but I see this high price-tag vaulting his ownership less than 10%. Woodland has been playing his best golf as of late. Gary has four straight made cuts, which includes the US Open and The Open Championship. Woodland bombs it off-the-tee and his iron game is strong. Woodland finished 4th at this event last year playing much poorer than his current form.

$9,100 Ian Poulter

Ian Poulter missed the cut at The Open Championship, but had been playing well across the pond. Poulter recorded 5 made cuts and failed to finish worse than 30th on the European Tour preparing for The Open. Poulter will now make his way back to the US, returning to the RBC Canadian Open, where he finished 3rd last year.

$7,800 Jamie Lovemark

Lack of course history will scare away some ownership, but Lovemark is a solid play this week. At single digit ownership I love Lovemark’s upside. He bombs the ball off the tee, and he ranks top-20 in the field in scoring and tee-to-green gained. Lovemark has made 13/14 cuts with 9 top-30’s. Byeong-Hun An will garner a lot of $7800 ownership, meaning Lovemark will likely fall through the cracks.

RBC Canadian Open – Under-$7,000 Punts

$6,900 Robert Garrigus

Garrigus is the prototypical bomber ball-striker we are looking for to crush this course. Bob ranks 21st in driving distance this year on the PGA Tour and is top-20 in the field approach gained. Other than bombing and ball-striking, Garrigus doe not have much to offer. But he did finish T5 here last year, so the course has been shown to fit his eye.

$6,800 Sam Saunders

Saunders has made three consecutive cuts at Glen Abbey, and sets up very well for this course. Saunders is an excellent driver of the golf ball and he makes a lot of birdies. Saunders ranks 14th on the PGA Tour in par-5 scoring, and all 4 of these par-5’s are reachable in two for Sam. At this price tag a made cut is all you are really looking for, but I love the upside that Saunders possesses.

$6,800 Jason Kokrak

Kokrak has made 1 cut in his last 4 events. It was a 3rd place finish at The Greenbrier that got him into The Open Championship. I was on him in West Virginia and I am on him again here! Kokrak is an Ontario guy, and he fits the mold of a bomber who scores on par-5’s and can streak some birdies. I will be massively overweight, hoping that Kokrak catches fire.
