11. 11-year-old skateboarder Gavin Bottger takes the silver medal in the Next X Skateboard park contest

The X Games is a place where kids come to watch their idols perform some of the most insane tricks that a person can perform. Kids from all over the world tune in to watch these athletes flip, jump and spin faster, higher and longer than a human should be able to. The X Games Next X contest is a chance for these up and coming athletes to get a chance to show the world that they are ready to follow in the footsteps of these extreme athletes.

One skateboarder that stood out in the Next X Park contest was an 11-year-old rider from California, Gavin Bottger. This little shredder could have easily blended in with the hundreds of pre-teen kids coming out to watch the event until he stepped into that skateboard park and blew away the millions of fans watching around the world.

Bottger is well-known in the skateboarding world. He is a star on YouTube and Instagram with the videos of his wild tricks and his cheery personality. When it comes to competition, Bottger is equally known as the one to watch out for. Following a win earlier this year at the amateur event on the Dew Tour with a body varial kickflip Indy, Bottger is now turning heads at the X Games.

Bottger began riding a skateboard at age five and is now one of the most talented prospects on the scene. Look for this little guy to smash the competition for years to come once he turns pro.
