Here’s how you can watch the Burden of Truth series premiere starring Kristin Kreuk online or the old-fashioned way right on your television.
Kristin Kreuk is back on The CW as big city lawyer Joanna Hanley in new series Burden of Truth, tonight at 8 p.m. ET. You can catch a live stream of the series premiere with a free seven-day trial from FuboTV, Hulu’s Live TV service or shortly post-episode right on CWTV.com and The CW app. The narrative for Burden of Truth sees lawyer Joanna Hanley return to her hometown of Millwood for what appears to be a simple open-and-shut case only to find herself fighting for justice for a group of sick girls.
Initial reviews of the series by The Los Angeles Times and The Hollywood Reporter seem mostly positive, calling it a “very Canadian ‘Civil Action’- esque legal drama.” Burden of Truth is in fact a Canadian import by CBC Television that was picked up by The CW, originally premiering back on Jan. 10, 2018. Kreuk not only stars in the series but is an executive producer along with Ilana Frank (Rookie Blue) and Jocelyn Hamilton (Cardinal). The legal drama series was created by Brad Simpson, a writer/actor previously known as the story editor/editor of crime drama King.
The CW acquired Burden of Truth in hopes of bolstering up its summer lineup according to Variety, and most likely because of their previous success with star Kristin Kreuk. A second season has already been greenlit by CBC, so if ratings gain steam over in the US, season 2 should be ready to go fairly quickly.
Burden of Truth is Kreuk’s first TV series since Beauty and the Beast concluded in 2016, and her latest work as an actress since doing a voice for 2017 Steam released game Shuyan Saga as Princess Shuyan. It’s an excellent opportunity for Kreuk to return to major prominence with an already built-in fanbase on The CW network.

Local town lawyer Billy Crawford (Peter Mooney) is fighting on behalf of the girls and has a vested interest in winning after his niece, Molly (Sara Thompson), is affected. Things take a surprising turn when new evidence comes to light that drastically affects both Joanna and Billy on both legal and personal levels ."
