5 trade targets that can help Oakland make the playoffs

Curtis Granderson
Now at 37-years-old, Curtis Granderson isn’t the same player he once was. In his prime, he was a dual power and speed threat at the top of the order. Although he’s never really hit for average, Grandy is a solid piece when it comes to on-base percentage.
He has a .337 on-base percentage which is his highest since 2015 when he was a big part of the Mets run to the World Series. Even at his older age, he’s still a reasonable left fielder.
He’ll give you an above average glove and a great locker room presence. To make matters better for Oakland he’ll come on the cheap.
He’s only on a one-year $5 million contract, so the A’s would only owe him a fraction of that. On top of that, you won’t have to give up a premier prospect either. For Granderson, you’d likely give up a couple of low levels, fringe prospects.
For the cost, you’re trying to catch lightning in a bottle with a guy who has a ton, 57 games, of playoff experience. Toronto would be upgrading their left field position while also adding a veteran to a team that doesn’t have much experience with the postseason.
