Which fantasy football rookies are going to pay off the most this year? We have five names for you to draft early in your league.

Every year, folks scrutinize the incoming rookie class and wonder who will go on to have the most decorated career. The smart fans are the ones asking which of the players can make an immediate impact on the digital gridiron.

Last season was a gold mine for rookies, players like Kareem Hunt, Alvin Kamara, Leonard Fournette, and Deshaun Watson all delivered huge numbers for their fantasy owners. The way the trend is going now, we may be in for an even bigger haul in 2018.

5. Derrius Guice, RB, Washington Redskins

One of the most hyped up players of the offseason lands at No. 5 on my list not because I think his skill set is any worse than the other four on my list, but because Washington has had trouble keeping their big men healthy.

Now, Guice is a bruiser and can obviously create his own running lanes, but I believe the team itself still lacks an identity, especially with new quarterback Alex Smith under center. Guice has the potential for big games, as evidenced by his game against Ole Miss last year where he ran for 276 yards.

In two years as a starter at LSU, he compiled 26 rushing touchdowns as well as three receiving, showing to at least be serviceable in the passing game. I mentioned Alex Smith earlier, and his presence there could definitely help Guice’s production with the volume of short passes Smith tends to throw.

I look for Guice to be a strong RB2 candidate with major upside next to an already proven commodity like fellow former LSU back Leonard Fournette.
