Welcome to the latest installment of our new daily series, a MLB DFS Cheat Sheet for DraftKings. Each article will include a Cheat Sheet followed by a corresponding slate summary to help assist players in constructing optimal lineups.

First off, a MLB DFS Cheat Sheet, when it comes to DFS, should never be used as the sole gauge when it comes to breaking down a slate. There is no substitute to extensive research and analysis collected from multiple platforms. However, a cheat sheet is primarily a great concise form of reference. It’s best used as an introductory guide in grasping an idea of your potential targets. Not to mention it’s very viable in constructing an initial build. Our MLB Daily DFS Cheat Sheet will list our projected top player at each position at three different price points, which will be labeled as “Tiers”. Each player listed will be paired with his current price and stats from their past 7 games including their Draftkings FPPG (fantasy points per game) over that span as well. Now enjoy our MLB DFS Cheat Sheet for Draftkings Friday 7/27 Slate *Note: All stats provided by MLB.com and Pro Baseball Reference

MLB DFS Cheat Sheet Slate Summary

Tonight’s Friday slate features the return of a full 15 game “Coors” slate. Weather seems to only play a factor in one game at Camden Yards where the Orioles play host to the rays. While it’s worth monitoring, there isn’t a need to have much exposure to it. So I’d recommend fading that game, and saving yourself some trouble and worry.

Contrary to last night, pitching is loaded tonight. With the cream of the crop being Max Scherzer, Chris Sale, and Clayton Kershaw. “The Big 3” are ridiculously priced but if I had to choose one to roll with it would be Mad Max as he is presented with the best situation up against the Marlins in the relatively pitcher friendly Marlins Park.

However, it may prove to be optimal to fade all 3 aces and target some lower priced options that are in good spots that warrant heavy consideration in order to provide salary relief. $10,700 Zach Greinke and $ 9,300 Madison Bumgarner are two solid options that are atleast $2,000 cheaper than the lowest priced of the “Big 3”, being Kershaw at $12,800. Not to mention both are respectively pitching in the two most pitching friendly ballparks in the majors. Yet my two favorite economical pitchers of the slate are Dallas Keuchel and Marcus Stroman.

Dallas Keuchel against a predominantly lefty Texas lineup seems like the right choice especially since in his last outing against them he accrued 26.2 fantasy points which almost equates to 3x value. He also sports a career 23.8 Whiff % and a 5.7 BB % against the current Rangers lineup with a .245 batting average against. Another positive note, the Rangers have only managed 3 homeruns against Keuchel in 351 plate appearance. Marcus Stroman is definitely more of a riskier option, but a great play in GPPs. He has a 22 k % with 1.7 % against the current White Sox lineup. Not to mention the White Sox are 2nd in the MLB in total team strikeouts per game.

As previously mentioned, it’s another “Coors” slate with the A’s visiting the Rockies, so every bat in that game should be under consideration. But neither teams are apart of my 2 favorite hitting stacks to target. Tonight I will have heavy exposure on Pittsburgh RHH against LHP Jason Vargas and Philly LHH against RHP Anthony Desclafani. I do want to mention I love Nolan Arenado as a one off. So even if you’re not stacking “Coors”, Arenado is the best bat to consider to create some exposure.

Two hitters that I highly recommend inserting into lineups that should provide salary relief are Josh Harrison and Yonder Alonso. Harrison, I feel like is a simple choice. Vargas, who allows a .466 SLG % to righties, has been dreadful for the Mets and been serving up homeruns all year . At $3,800, where there are no clear cut 2nd basemen plays for tonight, Harrison’s .330 wOBA against lefties might be just enough to be a highly profitable play. All you need to know with Alonso is that against RHP Mike Fiers, he has a .414 xwOBA and xSLG. Play him. Now go make those winning lineups!
