It has been a long time since the then Bullets triumphed over the then SuperSonics to win 1978 NBA Championship.
The current team felt stuck, plateaued and walled-in by hefty contracts across the board. Something had to give. In walks Howard, who wants to retire a Wizard! Laugh all you want but it’s a change and the Wizards badly needed a shakeup.
The Arenas Wizards were exciting, old-man Jordan gave the franchise some life, and Moses Malone’s brief stop over in the 1980s lifted up the fan base but the locals got a taste of winning with Alex Ovechkin and the Capitals this year and want more!
