The 2006 Finals were a gut punch, the damage was so severe Nowitzki literally fled to Australia. But Dallas is no strange to heartbreak.
The 2006 officiating and Finals loss, the 2007 ‘We Believe’ Warriors, the trials and tribulations of Triple-J Ranch, the lack of a happy ending for the Aguirre, Harper, Roy Tarpley, Rolando Blackman, Sam Perkins Mavericks were all just tribute for the ascension in 2011.
Nowitzki, Kidd, Marion, Chandler, and Stojakovic who all appear over the course of this project finally got their ring and Dallas basketball fans were validated in major way. Since then, the Mavericks have been getting stoned each and every offseason.
Nowitzki just signed-on for season number 21 and is an additional year away from playing in four different decades!
The Mavericks mirror the Suns in their desire to spring up out of the well, perhaps Dennis Smith Jr. and Luka Doncic can hoist them out.
