The Wolves ended a 13-year playoff drought last season and it could all be for naught if the team implodes this year. The locker room is tense, All-Star Jimmy Butler has allegedly had issues with the work ethic of his teammates, Karl-Anthony Towns’ extension talks aren’t going great, and former No. 1 overall selection Andrew Wiggins is locked in to a huge contract that his play simply hasn’t warranted.
The 2004 Wolves were a special unit. They were over-matched by the Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant Los Angeles Lakers but who wasn’t? This current Wolves unit has the most talent on paper any squad has had since that time. It’d be a shame if the Wolves plunged back into darkness before the eyes of the fan base ever adjusted to the light.
