Long before ‘The Process’ was even born, Chamberlain, Malone, and Barkley headlined as the NBA’s best big-man at various junctures.

The 1981-82 Sixers are never mentioned with the all-time teams but they should be. The 1980 and 1982 Sixers had already made it to the Finals prior to adding Moses Malone, so when he showed up the league knew what time it was. They won 65 games, had four All-Stars and swept the Lakers in the Finals.

If Erving’s prime had lined up a little better, they might’ve walked into a dynasty. Barkley was drafted a year later and joined the team in 1984-85 via a trade that predated even Malone’s acquisition.

Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, and Brett Brown have the Sixers back out in front and could take advantage of a conference suddenly vacated by James.
