For fans of the Buffalo Bills, the frustrations have been mounting for some time when it comes to defensive end Shaq Lawson. Such an incredible talent coming out of Clemson, where he racked up 12.5 sacks during his final season with the Tigers, the Bills made him their first round pick back in 2016, selecting him at No. 16 overall.

Since then, it has been one injury after the other, and he has appeared in only 21 games over his first two seasons. In his rookie year, he made only one start, but last season, he was a starter for most of the time, starting ten of the 11 games he appeared in. With only six sacks to his name through his first  two seasons, the time is starting to run out for Lawson in Buffalo.

However, Lawson is healthy heading into his third season in the NFL, and the hope is he can team with Jerry Hughes to give the Bills some solid edge rushers in 2018. The Bills surprisingly made it back to the playoffs for the first time in forever last season, and have a solid defensive-minded head coach in Sean McDermott.

Lawson is an elite physical specimen, but the fact is, he has not lived up to his draft hype as of yet. It have been a very tough go for him since coming into the NFL, but if he can stay on the field for a full 16-game slate, he should put up the kind of numbers Bills fans are hoping for.

With his size, speed, and strength, there is no reason why he cannot be a double-digit sack guy in the NFL, now he just need to go out and prove he can get that done.
