The Vancouver Canucks are coming off another disappointing campaign and will face a lot of questions going into this season.

The Vancouver Canucks missed the playoffs again for the third straight season this past season as they finished seventh in the Pacific Division. It ended up being the final year for the Sedin brothers in Vancouver, as they announced their retirement just days before the season ended. This will be the first season without the Sedins in a Vancouver uniform in years, and it figures to be another rebuilding season. Here’s a look at five questions facing the Canucks going into this season.

5. Besides Brock Boeser and Bo Horvat, where does the offense come from?

Boeser is going to be outstanding again next year for the Canucks. Before he got hurt, he had 29 goals and 55 points in 62 games during his rookie season. If he didn’t get hurt, he definitely would’ve had over 30 goals and potentially a 70-point season. It likely wouldn’t have been enough to win the Calder over Matthew Barzal, but it would’ve made the race closer. He’ll be in the top six again next season, and Bo Horvat is expected to be good again too. He had 22 goals and 44 points in 64 games last season. He’ll be the team’s number one center this fall.

Outside of those two, though, where will the rest of the offense come? Loui Erikkson signed that massive six-year deal just a couple years ago, but he only had 10 goals and 23 points last season. Brandon Sutter only had 11 goals and 26 points last season and he’s on a long-term contract as well.

It’s going to be a huge test for the Canucks to see just where the offense comes from outside of Boeser and Horvat, as there aren’t many other players on the roster who can pot 20 goals and 40 points in a season.
