Cincinnati Reds

The Cincinnati Reds are mired in another terrible season in 2018, and there are no reinforcements coming any time soon. The Reds currently find themselves in last place in the NL Central, sitting ten games under .500, and already 13.5 games out of first place.

While the Reds will not play a factor in the World Series race, aside from maybe playing the role of spoiler later on, they did at least get involved during the 2018 trade deadline. The Reds traded away slugger Adam Duvall to the Atlanta Braves, who have come out of nowhere to be a contender in the NL East.

One very surprising move that did not happen with this roster is the fact that Matt Harvey was still on the  team when the trade deadline passed. Harvey has looked much better since coming over from the New York Mets, and could have really helped a team in a pennant race the rest of the 2018 season.

Harvey is going to be a free agent after this season, so it really makes no sense that he is still a member of the team. The Reds are headed towards another last place finish, and it could be quite some time before they are able to challenge in a division that has really upgraded their rosters during the trade deadline.

The Cubs have been the class of the NL Central for the past few years, and the Brewers added even more talent to their roster during the trade deadline. Cincinnati has played better as of late, but their chance of making a run is officially out the window heading into August.
