Cavs fans are throwing a parade because Tristan Thompson punched Draymond
Tristan Thompson and Draymond Green allegedly had an altercation. Now, Cleveland fans will throw a parade in honor of Thompson’s punch.
Coverage of the Tristan Thompson-Draymond Green debacle has gained steam within the last 36 hours and Cavalier fans would like to show their appreciation for Thompson.
Per a Facebook listing, Cavalier fans will host a parade honoring Thompson for his alleged assault on Green. The event will supposedly happen on Oct. 13, and the reason for that specific date is quite hilarious. Per Bleacher Report:
"The date was chosen because Thompson’s jersey number is 13. The time is certainly in reference to the 2016 NBA Finals when the Cavaliers overcame a 3-1 deficit to defeat the Golden State Warriors."
Marcus Thompson II of The Athletic first broke the news reliably and it spread like wildfire afterward. Thompson allegedly punched Green in the face at an ESPYs afterparty hosted by LeBron James.

Cavalier fans reacted by championing Thompson for finally humbling Green. But per a source who talked to Thompson II, Thompson’s strike toward Green was a sucker punch, closer to a shove:
"“It was a sucker punch,” one source at the party told Thompson. “But, to be honest, it wasn’t really a punch. It was more like a shove.”Word of the scuffle between Thompson and Green was warmly received by Cavs fans."
While the exact details of the incident aren’t clear, Cavalier fans may have found a way to make light of a dreadful offseason. Losing to the Golden State Warriors for the third time in four years was a punch to the gut, but LeBron James leaving for the Los Angeles Lakers via free agency was the death knell.
Still, for some fans, Thompson “winning” the altercation against their arch-nemesis, Green, may easily serve as rightful retribution.
