Welcome to the Monday edition of WNBA DFS Lineup Advice, a fantasy basketball column dedicated to finding you the best key players and value picks on today’s slate to build your lineups around.

Good morning everybody! We have an early edition of WNBA DFS Lineup Advice today for the single game tournaments on FanDuel and DraftKings. Most other sites don’t bother doing write-ups for single game slates. Some analysts don’t want to  “waste their time” on a short slate. Others are afraid of making recommendations with such a small player pool where there is less room for error and mistakes are magnified. Here at FantasyCPR.com no potato is too small, if there’s a WNBA slate – we want to help you win money – whether it is for 1 game or 6 games!

For those of you stopping by for the first time, I would like to thank you for checking out WNBA DFS Lineup Advice here at FantasyCPR.com Here is a brief summary of what I cover in each article:

  1. Game Times, O/U, Spreads from Oddshark.com
  2. Where to Play (Websites, contest rules, and prizes)
  3. MVP, STAR, PRO, UTILITY spot on FanDuel
  4. MVP, UTILITY spot on DraftKing
  5. Team/Player stats are from WNBA.com
  6. Player projections from LineStarApp.com
  7. Final Thoughts on the slate. (Stacks, fades, injuries, etc.)

It’s important to remember these articles are just a first look at the slate. For injury updates, starting lineups, pictures of my dog, and any other WNBA DFS news throughout the day – follow me on Twitter @whelan_ej

WNBA DFS Lineup Advice – Fanduel Single Game (SEA vs. NY)

MVP

Breanna Stewart – Stewie is leading the way in the race for the title of MVP this season for the WNBA. She’s averaging 22.5 points and 8.1 rebounds a game. She has a usage rate of 27% and an offensive rating of 110.9, there’s no reason she shouldn’t be at the top of your lineup today. LineStar has her projected to score 43.29 on Fanduel. Get cute and creative with everything else – put Stewart in the MVP spot.

STAR

Natasha Howard – I love Natasha Howard today against NY. It’s no secret that the Liberty have issues with ball control. They are 2nd in the league with 14.6 turnovers a game, and teams are blocking 3.6 shots a game against them. Howard is blocking shots at a rate of 5.9% when she is on the floor. LineStar has her projected to score 32.52 points today on Fanduel.

PRO

Sue Bird – I have no problem with stacking the Storm today at the top. The injuries on NY should keep enough value open to fit Bird in. If this game gets out of hand I can see her heading to the bench first. That said I think she will still play more minutes than anyone in the NY back court, and her price isn’t that much higher. She’s capable of putting up big numbers. Bird and Brittany Boyd have similar ceilings but in a game where Seattle are heavy favorites, I like Birds chances of picking up more assists and points.

UTILITY:  S. Rodgers, Amanda Zahui B, Kia Nurse, Crystal Langhorne, Rebecca Allen

WNBA DFS Lineup Advice – DraftKings Single Game (SEA vs. NY)

MVP:

Breanna Stewart -Stewie is leading the way in the race for the title of MVP this season for the WNBA. She’s averaging 22.5 points and 8.1 rebounds a game. She has a usage rate of 27% and an offensive rating of 110.9, there’s no reason she shouldn’t be at the top of your lineup today. LineStar has her projected to score 43.22 on DraftKings. Get cute and creative with everything else – put Stewart in the MVP spot.

UTILITY:

Alysha Clark –  I’m not too excited about playing Clark today. She spends alot of time on the court but most days she is a bit pedestrian. She fits into the lineup nice on DK though, and has some potential upside at her price point. LineStar has her projected to score 16.71 on DraftKings.

For the rest of my DraftKings lineup I still like all the players from our Fanduel picks, with the addition of Jordin Canada and Kia Vaughn (if she plays)

Final Thoughts

  1. I won’t be betting on this game to go over the point total. Betting on Storm games to go over has been pretty reliable this year but with NY on the floor I am not willing to take that risk.
  2. If you want to play Loyd over Howard and pivot off of Bird on Fanduel run it back with Hartley or Rodgers.
  3. Injuries that could impact the slate: Epiphanny Prince (Ques), Shavonte Zellous (Ques), Kia Vaughn (Ques)
