The Los Angeles Lakers will face off against the Houston Rockets in Lebron’s Los Angeles debut. Yes, it’s absolutely must-see TV.

When LeBron James chose the Los Angeles Lakers as his new team this past July, expectations for the Lakers immediately changed. The Lakers went from a young, emerging team to a Western Conference contender once the news broke.

James, though, was courted by the Houston Rockets at one point and perhaps elected to go to the Lakers to focus more on his business acumen. This made the Rockets laser in on Carmelo Anthony instead. Under these circumstances,  it will be interesting to see the Lakers host the Rockets in LeBron’s Los Angeles debut come Oct. 20.

For starters, it’s LeBron. He’s always must-see TV. The NBA’s greatest player in the world’s greatest city is an easy watch.

Second, fans want to see the new look of the NBA’s best regular-season team last season in the Rockets. Losing Trevor Ariza will hurt, but the addition of Anthony and how he will mesh with the Rockets’ style of play is an intriguing situation.

Third, it’s a clash of the stars: The two teams will feature James Harden, Chris Paul, James and Anthony. We also get to see the rising stars such as Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball and Clint Capela, too. With all of these factors to consider, it’s your best bet to tune in Oct. 20 to watch this matchup.

Finally, are the Lakers better than the Rockets? Of course, we won’t truly know until we hit the playoffs, but can Los Angeles be a bigger threat to Golden State than Houston can? Are the Rockets going to lay down the gauntlet immediately, or can the Lakers showcase what they’re bringing to the table?

For one of the NBA’s first regular-season games of the new season, it can’t get much better.
