Panthers at Bills live stream: TV schedule, time and more
Kelvin Benjamin’s recent disparaging remarks about the Panthers have made their upcoming preseason game against the Bills a lot more interesting.
Bad blood isn’t usually a part of Week 1 preseason games in the NFL. Carolina’s trip to Buffalo on Thursday is going to be the exception to the rule. Kelvin Benjamin’s decision to talk poorly about his time with the Panthers will add some extra juice to what would have previously been a pretty docile affair.
The most compelling tactical aspect of this game will be evaluating what Buffalo has at the quarterback position. The Bills spent a high first round pick on Josh Allen, but he currently sits second on Sean McDermott’s depth chart. Expect to see A.J. McCarron before the highly touted rookie takes the field.
For the Panthers, all eyes will be focused on what the first team offensive line can accomplish. Daryl Williams and Amini Silatolu will both miss a big chunk of the season due to injuries sustained during preseason work. Taylor Moton and Brendan Mahon will be under the microscope for the foreseeable future.
Date: Thursday, Aug. 9

Live Stream: NFL Game Pass or Fubo TV
The uncertainty on Carolina’s offensive line also means you probably won’t see much from Cam Newton in this game. Ron Rivera and company don’t want to expose him to unnecessary danger before the regular season begins. Subjecting him to the Bills’ pass rush behind a patchwork offensive line would be an excellent way to get Newton hurt.
In the end, it’s safe to expect this game to feature a lot of competitive play from rookies and fringe players trying to solidify their places on each team’s respective roster. That is, after all, the first objective for the preseason schedule. Anything you see from an established starter or veteran is a bonus.
